Corruption ..... root of evil!

I just read through an article in The Indian Express. It is one of the worst papers I've ever read, but this was a quote made from the editorial of another newspaper. Well, it was an article on the Mumbai attacks and the consequences. It was really devastating to think of the happenings in our country. We have grown to become to become a big country and I trust every word of India Shining. I read somewhere that the global economic slowdown could be used as a boost to the Indian economy if used as an opportunity. I should admit that I am utterly flummoxed by the idea, but I guess that people with more intellectual prowess have written the same.
It is disgusting to know that for something to happen in this country, you need influence at the least. And the best form of influence is just at you guessed, Money. I am one of those who think different and feel that corruption is a necessary evil and it would aid in the smooth running of a system. A system which finds itself difficult to survive on its own legs. If you consider many of the state or government run agencies, most of the appointments are made on pittance in spite of almost everyone having a base qualification.
Almost every citizen would have understood the importance of the Army in the last couple of weeks. There has been big hue and cry for maintaining a large army which lies dormant most of the time. This time it was different, people were crying out for not equipping the Army or the NSG with the latest weapons. Whenever someone mentions that they are in the Army, the first question is about 'quota'! It is right, even the Army personnel have to sell liquor to make a few extra bucks. Has the status of the army diminished so much??? Recently, I heard that the salary of the Army personnel had been increased in principle but there was trouble with implementing the same.
The police force of India is pathetic. They have been armed with antiques of WW II. Which other police force in the world has the opportunity to handle antiques and use them against the most sophisticated weapons like the AK47 and protected with Bulletproof vests which can barely withstand a rifle bullet??? It is really heart rending to see that people lay their lives ready to serve the society and the common public while they themselves are cheated and not even given the basic security or safety measures.
When asked why the intelligence could not predict the Mumbai attacks, the first reply was that they get lot of information and they could not sift through all of it! Intelligence is one of the most crucial segments of our defense and with time being of the essence, it is almost fatal to consider the IB unwanted! India is one big country with the second largest population. When the US is opening up new jobs, India is still sticking to the past. Many people are actually still interested to find computers in Government offices. I acknowledge that I am one of them and its fun to watch old people fumbling around with the mouse and keyboard. :)
Unemployment is a big problem in India and there are a lot of unfilled posts and a lot more positive openings. It is not because of the lack of qualified professionals but again corruption gets a head start. This is a period when a kid is looked upon as an investment. His future is drawn up with utmost care and a slight deviation in the same make the child's life hell. For India especially, its time we progressed from our primitive educational system and allowed students more choice and helped them to look ahead of the stereotypes.

Its time, each and every one of us should try to evict corruption from our country but not by making others quit the habit. When each of us come to a station of responsibility, we should through self recognition, make progress and oust the habit/menace of corruption.

Eyes that dazzle......

I have never felt a reason for life. Is life just a way of things, is it just a way to create history. History that no one else bothers about? History that is bound to yourself? I have never found a reason for human survival. well, we engage in momentary pleasures which may raise our physical or mental state of well being for a brief period of time. But isnt this all to repent for a longer period of time. Humans have explained their own existense as a big problem. We say no one is perfect. Every object which may remotely induce pleasure, fun or a reason for survival is doomed to be banned from our lives. Even a bite of the forbidden fruit induces tremendous remorse in us. It all starts with religion and then it is imprinted in the innocent childs mind. Everything that has a relation to moral values and manners is a direct insult to the way of survival. Is it in the natural nature of humans to forbid themselves what they think good for them? Prehistoric man started with no religion, no moral values and no restrictions. He started respecting fire when he found that it was of use to him. How did that fire evolve into what it is today? Gods are springing up every other minute. If a community claims to have seen someone perform something special or if they respect someone more than a human should, the person is immediately considered equivalent to God. Dont believe me? Who do you think is the Dalai Lama?
I myself have never found a reason for survival. Is it just to trouble people? I dont love anyone..... absolutely no one and I trust it is the same to me. I have many relatives who fake love, but their mask is torn apart when they open their mouths. Money has turned out to become the deciding factor. There was one relation which I valued far above all else, Friendship. Finding true friends is like finding a needle in a haystack that has limitless boundaries. I myself dont acknowledge myself to be perfect. I look for qualities that I like and the others are just friends, but once I get to know someone, I like to keep them as friends, true or not. But when it comes to backstabbing there is no where better than to look than your friends.

I've been searching for a reason to survive all my life, atleast from the time I started thinking. Many say Love is a reason to survive. I dont know if that is a reason fit enough because I have never been acknowledged. As suprising as it may be, I've been in love twice. Once was when I was still in my early teens, I looked at the pic of a girl oh hi5 and thats it, I was head over heels for her. But this lasted barely for a few hours when I realised that this was nothing but a mere attraction. But I have never been able to explain the feeling. The next time was when I was in my late teens . This was again, another moment I looked at her and immediately felt attracted to her. Well this remained for quite some time, a few months I should say. It was the eyes that attracted me the most, again a feeling I can never explain to myself. I remained happy looking at her but then again came out the moral values and the self imposed restrictions which had grown in the innocent mind. Brutally kicked out, it has turned out to be a thing of the past.

How much is a life without a reason....... I guess I will never know. The subconscious sets a reason all by itself. Its involuntary and can never be controlled.... My present reason for survival ...... I dont know. So, surging ahead to find a reason for survival......

Life....

We can here quotes flying off every direction in this world, most of them reflected away to a third person. What we hear may or may not be worth analyzing. To most of us, it is nothing but a blabber of words. Of all the millions of quotes I've heard in my life, only one has stood its ground. This is of course a Shakespearean quote, it goes like this....

All the world's a stage,
And all the men and women merely players;
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts,
His acts being seven ages.

this is an extract from his play 'As you like it'

The first two lines, they have always proved right to me. There has not been an instance where I could analyze an objection to it. Many of us don't think of what is going on around us, so also, we do not think of what we hear of what we speak most of the time except when the topic ventures to one of man's basic necessities food and shelter. Previously, clothing was also a necessity, but I should say, long gone is the time where one considers nudity a problem.

There is nothing in this world that I love doing most. Many would say that this is an outrageous statement and that there are things in this world that can never tire one. When I think of it myself, thousands of examples fly by, lets start of with a few, Sleep ..... no one is ever tired of sleeping. Think again, would you love doing that all your life??? Work.... i know there wont be any objection there and so on goes the list, one after the other where man is made to life his life out of necessity.

Many may consider the ultimate - spending time with your loved ones. My experiences with life have taught me that there are no loved ones! The whole world works out to be a stage, where even parents, siblings or children work out to be actors. Consider the situation - crying at a funeral. Many a time, I wonder why people do this. After all, all of us are sure that we are going to die one day or the other, but then there is hope.... for what??? We hope that the individual would attain something if he were not dead, every moment being precious. Again, people expect something from you. Maybe the denial of what they thought was perennial may make them feel sad. Many say that the ultimate teachers are death and hunger. When the prospect of both looks diminutive to our future, we rather don't care about them. A newsreel which states that a suicide bomber took out a dozen of lives in Iraq often escapes our notice. There was a time when the war in Iraq was of utmost interest. This was again at a time when quoting the war was a fashion. Actors need their lines and news makes their daily lines.

There is but one thing that I trust in this world .... the smile of a baby and the laugh of an innocent child.
